The investment will focus on the equipping of laboratories and facilities of the Croatian Forest Research Institute (CFRI) at its headquarters in Jastrebarsko, enabling the development of a modern, functionally integrated, and technically advanced research infrastructure in the field of biotechnical sciences, specifically forestry and horticulture. The upgraded research infrastructure will include newly equipped laboratory units and supporting research spaces designed to enhance analytical, experimental, and monitoring capacities essential for high-quality scientific and applied research.
The improved RI will be designed to strengthen interdisciplinary research, accelerate innovation, and enhance cooperation between the scientific community, public authorities, and economic operators. Through targeted investments in advanced scientific and non-scientific equipment, the project will establish the physical and technical conditions necessary for knowledge creation, experimental development, and the application of research results in forestry, biodiversity conservation, climate change impact assessment, and sustainable natural resource management. These improvements will create a conducive environment for enhancing Croatia’s research excellence, increasing participation in national and international RDI programmes.
