The fifth Technology Scouting workshop was held on April 10–11, 2025, in Rijeka, at the premises of Step Ri – the Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka, with the goal of strengthening capacities for managing proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and building effective collaborations between academia and industry.

Over two days, participants explored key topics such as managing different forms of collaboration (contractual research, licensing, spin-offs), aligning expectations and responsibilities, and ensuring clear communication and mutual trust.

Special attention was given to managing spin-offs as a distinct type of collaboration, while real-world case simulations and exercises deepened understanding of common challenges. The second day focused on managing licensing processes and interactive, hands-on format.

The workshop once again highlighted the importance of professionalization and building sustainable links between science and business.
