Final Workshop for Technology Scouts Held under the DIGIT Project
On May 16, 2025, the final workshop for technology scouts was held in Zagreb as part of the DIGIT (Digital, Innovation and Green Technology) project, implemented by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth through a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank Group.
The workshop gathered participants of the six-month training program, during which they engaged in a series of educational sessions, hands-on workshops, and team-based activities aimed at strengthening the role of technology scouts within the Croatian innovation ecosystem.
During the final workshop, technology scouts presented team-based innovation challenges—real-world problems and opportunities identified through collaboration with entrepreneurs, researchers, and other relevant stakeholders. Each scout also gave an individual presentation, sharing their perspective on the role of a technology scout, ways to contribute to innovation development, and suggestions for further improvement of this role in future initiatives and funding calls.
A special emphasis was placed on the continued engagement of scouts through real-world application of their role. A dedicated call for innovation projects is planned, where scouts will have the opportunity to provide advisory support to applicants and contribute to solving concrete innovation challenges.
The workshop concluded with a ceremony to award certificates to all program participants. Certificates were presented by Hrvoje Meštrić, PhD, Director-General of the Directorate for Science and Technology at the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth, who thanked the technology scouts for their dedication and enthusiasm and emphasized the importance of their role in strengthening collaboration and connections between science, research, and the business sector.
