At the Ministry of Science and Education, on September 5, 2023, a presentation of the “Digital, Innovative, and Green Technologies” (DIGIT) project was held for representatives of the scientific and business community, which the Government of the Republic of Croatia is implementing with the help of a loan and support from the World Bank. The loan agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the World Bank was signed on June 28, 2023, for an amount of 106 million euros.

The DIGIT project is implemented in two components: “Strengthening institutional capacities for conducting digital and green research and innovations” and “Programs for digital and green research and innovations,” and it lasts five years. The aim of the project is to:

1. Increase resources for research and development
2. Strengthen institutional capacities for creating research and innovation policies
3. Facilitate digital transformation and green transition of the economy.
